Peacemakers
Acrylic on Paper, 116 x 71cm
Rounded musical-looking shapes are opposed and threatened by pointed, angular ones. Between the sides is a vast gulf. The red lines threaded back and forth, represent peacemakers gradually drawing the two sides together. Peacemaking is always costly, not least to the peacemakers themselves, here symbolised in red for suffering or martyrdom.
From the Beatitudes series.
