Hunger & Thirst

The skeletal structures in front suggest hunger and desperation. Yet the warmth of colour and the shape on the horizon – which matches and completes the other shapes – relate to the promise that 'those who hunger and thirst for righteousness… will be filled' (Matt. 5/6).

This is from a series of nine paintings and one conceptual sculpture - 'Attitudes' - based on the Beatitudes.
